More athletes should be like Ben Wallace

Once defensive dominator and possibly the best un-drafted player ever, Ben Wallace is contemplating retiring. The 13-year veteran has one more year on his deal which will make him an additional 14 million notes next year. Ben has said that he did not play a game without pain and that he just was not playing up to his abilities this year.

Money has never been the issue for Ben, one of the many players that my team, the Wiz, let slip through their fingers. He is more interested in his pride as a professional basketball player and not embarrassing himself on the court. I heard many members of the media saying that he would be an idiot to walk away from such an amount of money but I totally commend his reasoning. What does a man like him, who has everything, need with more money? He will be fine, and a happier and healthier man. Maybe now he will be able to play with his kids and teach them a thing or two.
